Preliminary 1.0 OverviewThis outing is a fall ascent of Camel's Hump Mountain. At 4,083, Camels Hump is the third highest mountain in Vermont. Its open summit and steep approaches will provides some significant challenges, and will make a good challenge for experienced scouts.2.0 Concept2.1 DescriptionWe will approach the Mountain via the Forest City Trail and the Long Trail. This route is about 4 miles long. After taking a break on the summit we will descend on the Burrows trail which is 2.4 miles long. There may be some technical terrain nearr the summit.2.2 Schedule of EventsSaturday 8Oct050800 -- Meet at the Community Center. 1700 -- Return to Community Center. 2.3 Expected Conditions and DifficultyCamels Hump is a four-thousand footer with all that entails.
