1.0 OverviewImagine you are on a day hike up a mountain and due to a series of unfortunate events you have been forced to spend the night there. What do you do? On this outing we will build shelters and spend the night with the stuff you might bring on a day hike.
Our emphasis is on our shelter, so you can bring water and food. But will will try to cook on a simple fire and not stoves. Also be ready for thunder-showers. August maybe a warm time of year, but it also bring unexpected showers.
Most of us will be sleeping without a tent or a sleeping bag.
2.1 DescriptionWe will meet at the AT parking area on Three Mile road and hike in. We plan on camping off of the Clark Pond Trail, between the new Harris Cabin and the South Peak of Moose Mountain. We will hike in and build shelters Friday afternoon. We plan to leave our shelters up and return to them in November. We hike out early Saturday morning.
