1.0 Overview

2.0 Concept

The Special Olympics is an athletic competition specifically for athletes with various handicaps. The opening ceremony of the Games includes a procession of the participants and the presentation of the American flag. We provide a color guard for the opening ceremony.

2.1 Description

We will meet at the Community Center before 9 am on order to pick up the American flag and its stand. We then walk to the High School athletic field. At the field, we will be given our instructions and follow them to support the opening ceremony.

The ceremony should be complete before 10 am. Once it is over, we will pack up the flag and return it to the Community Center.

2.2 Schedule of Events

Saturday 14May
0850 -- Retrieve flags from Community Center.
0900 -- Arrive at athletic field. Briefing and setup.
0930 -- Opening ceremony begins.
1000 -- Return flags to Community Center.br>

2.4 Special Requirements

Open to all Scouts. There are no skill prerequisites for this outing.
